AUSTIN WARDROBE STYLIST CRISTINA FACUNDO DISCUSSES HER STYLE
How does living in Austin influence your style?
I was born and raised in Austin and love how the city and the style have evolved over the years. Despite being a big city, it still has a small town feel. I like to think my style is a reflection of that - simple and effortless, never too fussy.
Who are some of your favorite designers?
I have been a follower of Rosie Assoulin since her early days. I'm drawn to the bright colors and bold designs and love that each piece appears to tell a story. When you meet Rosie, you immediately understand her designs a little better.
What are your routines for getting ready + putting an outfit together?
I like to think, where could this night end up? I've been caught off guard many times with all night dance parties or up-until-the-sunrise fireside chats and am always in the wrong shoes! I never leave home without my three gold Shaesby rings and a sprtiz of Santal 33.
Flats or heels?
Always flats. I'm a wardrobe stylist and if I'm not pulling or prepping a shoot, I'm on set and standing all day. My sneaker collection has grown extensively in the last six years I've been styling.
Craftsmanship is at the heart of each pair of Huma Blanco shoes.
Huma Blanco is a footwear brand, designed and handmade in Lima, Peru. The line was born of an appreciation for the simple luxury of Peruvian hides and textiles, along with a goal to sustain long-term jobs for shoemakers in its designer's home country.
The raw beauty of these Peruvian materials - such as suede, alpaca and calf hair - inspires the designer, Adriana Crocco. Crocco works with them using natural dyes, or leaving them in their pure form. The line fuses classic silhouettes with interesting construction and unexpected textures.
The Designer
Huma Blanco is created by Adriana Crocco, a third-generation shoemaker and designer based in Lima. Her Peruvian and Italian shoemaking heritages have led Adriana to an appreciation for quality of materials and construction.
